I had a CRAZY dream last night. It involved a new Sonic game.

So I was playing, getting used to the controls and everything... fast foward, where Sonic and Tails are heading to a fortress. I'm guessing it's the final zone, but the dream was hazy.

Sonic was feeling depressed for some reason. What I can tell from the start of the story, Sonic had another big fight with Eggman, went Super, and trashed Baldy McNosehair's toys. Tails was also along for the ride. They, however, fell for yet another elaborate trap and were sent to another planet.

Fast foward again, where Sonic is homesick. Tails tries to cheer him up, but Sonic doesn't budge.

Then, out of nowhere, Alvin and Brittany- yes, I said it-of the, well you know, show up. They cheer up Sonic, which somehow works. He thanks them and runs into the fortress. (Guess what the setting is.):)

Into the fortress, where I can tell, I basically mastered the game. Sonic was running full speed, collecting rings, boosting, running on and climbing up walls (Homage to Sonic Lost World), everything you want. The goal ring was in sight, and 5 seconds later, I'm there.

And that's what I remember of the dream.

Did lost world let you down in more then one way that you feel this is needed?

^ As a moderator in a chatroom for lucid dreamers, I have to ask that you don't analyze his dream as some sort of extension of his posts from yesterday. He frequents a Sonic forum, so it's only natural that he'd eventually dream of something Sonic-related.

Besides, the cool dreamers don't play the games in their dreams; they star in them. No fanfic can beat a nice lucid dream; it's the one place you're allowed to act like a self-insert fan character and not be teased. :)

The Kid: No. I actually like Lost World. The stages are fun, yet challenging. The story line is a bit confusing, but get past that, and it's fun all the way.

Thorn: This isn't an extension of my posts from yesterday. This is a true dream story. If you believe in God, like me, you have visions of the future galore.

First off, I wasn't the one saying your dream was an extension of your post; I was actively telling The Kid not to say that.

Secondly â€” and I'm opening a whole can of worms here, but whatever â€” I don't believe that God is giving you precognitive dreams about Sonic games. You'll have to deal with my skepticism there.

I didn't say this post was an extension of his previous. My words may have gave off that meaning but that wasn't what i was getting at

The Kid: If it wasn't meant that way, then it was just meant as a derisive message. At that point in the conversation, I don't think there was any reason to be derisive. However, now that dwhitethegamer is saying he may have received a message from God about the next Sonic game, I think there's reason to take the piss out of him.

dwhitethegamer: I've already mentioned that I'm a moderator in a lucid dreaming chatroom. I am aware of much of what can and cannot occur in sleep. One thing I've noticed over the years is that the moment people start to believe their dreams have some connection to outside, supernatural forces â€” God, Satan, the Astral Plane, the spirits of the deceased, etc. â€” they get crazy. Really crazy, in fact. Considering that many people don't even recall their dreams, it seems that dreams would be a silly place for God to get in touch with you; he'd be taking a huge risk of just having his message lost. There's also the Occam's Razor principle, wherein the explanation that requires the least amount of assumptions is usually the most correct one. I think it's safe to say that you've had some exposure to Sonic over the course of the day, so you had a dream with a Sonic-style plot. In fact, I often dream of Sonic games, and not one of my dreams has turned into a Sonic game.

Let's put the icing on the cake, though. As a lucid dreamer, I've run fast, done flips, sported some grinds on rails, leaped from platforms, flown around at top speed, and other Sonic-style stunts. The avatar I just put up is how a friend of mine (another lucid dreamer) claimed to see me in a lucid dream of his. If we assume that God is equally likely to contact you, me, and my friend, then I'd say the odds are 2 in 3 that the next Sonic game stars me! That's fucking awesome!

Edit: If thorn WAS in the new sonic game i would most likely buy it. Would be the best game of 2014

Thorn I think you're making the mistake of arguing that religion has to be logical. It's not and if he's convinced that some sort of God is communicating to him through dreams about Sonic then there's not really any logical arguments against since belief is illogical to begin with.

That said, I do think you should take Thorn's advise to heart. Use your common sense and not what the voices in your head tell you to do. You hear a lot about those people on the news.

I personally believe in the word of Asatrons SÃ¥nnickfÃ¶ljare. I'm currently the only member but that's likely to change as soon as the word gets out. We believe that Ask and Embla just were mistranslations from runes of Sonic and Sally and that since salvation through war with Denmark isn't really an option anymore you have to compete through the internet in various Sonic games in order to reach Valhall. At least that's what it says in the ancient notebooks I found under my bed so it must be true. No need to ridicule me for my belief, I understand it might be hard to swallow at first but give it time to digest and hopefully you too will realise the truth of my words. Anyway I need to do my daily prayer routine so I probably won't answer until I found my Sonic 1 cart. Cheers.

Thorn: Since you asked me, I will. I know for a fact that your dreams won't come true unless you go directly to SEGA and ask them to make a game that stars you. Only then will your dreams come true. My dreams, at a majority of the time, come true. They usually happen in a real-life situation. My dreams are like the first person shooters, I'm right on the action, making decisions that impact that dream. In the start of the topic's case, I'm playing a Sonic game. Nobody knows what would happen in the real world right now, but if the Sonic game IS real, then you would expect me to play the heck out of the game.

The rest of your statement, where you say you control the dream consciously, sounds like a normal, well-controlled lucid dream, which makes it even less likely to be precognitive because you're controlling things, not God. Yet they still come "true"? Your theory seems inherently contradictory.

The percentage of my dreams coming true are between 80% and 95%.

dwhite, that's what has me confused! You said "I'm right on the action, making decisions that impact that dream," so you're consciously directing your dreams. But God is also giving you an insight into the future while you direct it...? That implies that you control the future!

It's not your dream that I'm criticizing. I think dreams are beautiful things. It's your supernatural claim that I doubt. If you want to criticize the dreams I have, by all means go ahead, as I'm not claiming they affect the outside world. Because of that, the only one that needs to believe things is me. You, however, are making quite the broad claim, good sir.
