I click "Mark all topics as read", and it won't mark them as read in the actual website. I use Safari on a Mac OSX computer.

Doesnt always do it for me either, but it resets to '0' or a number below '4' after a while for me after a while.

Currently on '58' or somesuch.

Try clicking View New Posts after there have been a lack of new posts, going back to the board index, waiting a while (15 minutes without loading a TSC page will cause you to start a new session), and returning to the site.
