What happened to the quirky but friendly site that I joined in 2005?

Bring back Rolken & flyby. :(

Did the TSC meetup ever happen?

The lack of a social scene here besides the occasional 13-year-old halfwit that joins the site is very depressing and needs to be reversed.

I've always found the forum structure and naming very awkward. There have been a few occasions in the past where I've been looking up a specific topic, not having any idea where to look. I wouldn't be surprised if this has put others off bothering to use the forum too.

Also the prominent members section could do with an overhaul. Looks like it hasn't been updated this decade. Maybe someone else could write a paragraph for the people who haven't written their own?

Dunno about anyone else but knowing most people use emulators in the older games really put me off ever bothering to compete in them on TSC. If someone puts that much time and effort into a game, surely they can just buy the relevant game/console and play it legitimately?

As for newer hardware like the DS and Gamecube, there is really no excuse for resorting to emulation. Those consoles are readily available and there are loads of options for recording your runs.

One of the reasons TSC came up in the first place was an intent to distinguish a competitive community apart from Cyberscore, where players often would get banned or have stats removed without being given a chance to prove oneself.

Really? First time I've heard of that.

So adding charts is hard. But how is delaying it going to make adding them any easier? >_>

Surely it's in TSC's best interests to get games up ASAP.

I've not even noticed any items. How do you get them and use them?

28 timed charts and slightly less rings charts...

100 missions. These lame excuses for additional replay value will dominate the rankings of this game if they're added. Does everyone really want that?

Missions are extremely lame and by the time we've found what all of them are called, any competition in this game will be long dead.

A new champion will rise.
A prominent member will be banned.
The oldest (non maxed) record will fall.
Sonic 4 Episode 2 won't suck.
People will continue to use this topic for personal objectives rather than predictions.

Not that I'll ever play this game, but I reckon it'd be a mistake to exclude one or the other.

Sounds like the skills are basically equivalent to having a second playable character, for example Blaze in Sonic Rush. The competition would have been a lot less interesting if there had only been one set of charts in that game. Super Sonic in Sonic Colours is another good example.

13
Why?

News and Updates / Re: Sonic Colors Charts Impending, Possible Race

Yeah, vs cpu levels are an abomination. They're basically just multiplayer for people who don't have anyone to play against, I don't see any reason why they should be put up on TSC.

15
I reckon the DS divisions should be:

Times | Bosses | Scores | Rings | Special | Extra

Extra being mission times, which are actually fully visible at the end, unlike in SRA.

Has anyone tested that the score can be badly exploited in Boss fights?

Tropical Resort 1 - 53"76, 109463
Tropical Resort Mission 1 - 40880
Tropical Resort Boss - 17"62, 40386
Special Stage 1 - 59600

Don't think it has been mentioned already in this topic, Dimps is making Sonic 4 apparently.

I doubt it'll live up to the classics as a game, but it'll be much better for time attack competition unless Dimps really screw up somewhere.

I'm interested in joining, but I have an extremely limited selection of games. Are teams still involved this time round?

Ah cool, this is one of my favourite online games.

My Steam ID is McBayne, I've added everyone who posted theirs.

Unless the stretching occurred after taking those pictures, it looks like you're using the wrong resolution for your monitor.

I brought this up ages ago in the IRC channel. My opinion is still the same, I think they should be purged.

22
Well it didn't display long enough for me to read off a time when I attempted a SRA mission.

23
There are missions, but times in them are not saved. In addition, the time you see counts down, not up (its a limit, not for records). To top it all off, The time doesn't freeze after completing the mission, so its impossible to actually record your time!

Sounds an awful lot like those SRA missions you love so dearly. >_>

Note: I think those SRA missions are a waste of TSC chart space, but it would be nice to have some consistency between the different game rankings.

Also nice models magnum, the painting looks very neat.

After playing it a bit, I'm quite liking it. Touch screen controls were a pain at first, but they've become tolerable.

Nowhere near the high standard of any other Bioware game, but a lot better than recent Sega stuff.

Leaderboard Disputes / Re: i call typo on St-Tails

I'm still very skeptical about his Leaf Storm 1 time. The top times there involved a lot of strat sharing, and he submits a time just "02 off the record when he first joined.

It's looking quite promising. Hopefully Bioware are keeping Sega's input to a bare minimum on this one.

Sounds like the current admin are busy with real life stuff and/or losing interest in TSC stuff. Maybe some new admin should be recruited. I can think of a lot of active members who would be suitable, showing a very active role in the community and caring about the competition:

Stefan
Shadow Jacky
Thorn
Skylights

As far as I know all of them have been around for quite a long time and are extremely trust worthy.
