Beef / I'd like to point out...
« on: March 29, 2016, 09:41:19 am »
We have only made 7 (and now 8) topics this year. Seriously. http://www.soniccenter.org/forum/index.php?action=stats (Scroll down to the bottom). So uhh.... I'm just creating a thread for some fun thread ideas. Yeah, maybe I'm just a fool and this site is already dead anyways, but anyways, I actually came up with the idea of getting permission from other members and telling their stories, plenty of fun facts though. Only one I've thought about is HyperSonic7701, he's got an interesting story and also has some stuff I could pack as fun facts like how his leaderboard disputes topic is the biggest leaderboard disputes topic out of all the BS calls. And No this is not a April Fools joke. I should make one of those though lawl

I just hope we get 1337 competitors before April Fools... If not, I may have to make an alt and submit something, if the admins are okay with that. Because 1336 just won't cut it :(

Last time I visited SG3DS leaderboards (in-game) you had only few times visible on leaderboard, e.g. iirc me and Groudon and were only ones so far to get all Special Stages with perfect times. Of course this is doable, but as you have many other huge time/boss and ring records (Classic Green Hill Rings, Diamond was once called out for not having a proof about it) with no video or stat on leaderboard, it'd be cool to see at least a picture-proof to these.

That awkward moment when...

You realize you're talking about the wrong game...
we're talking about sonic 1

Well, welcome back. How did you even remember your password though?! Was it test? it was probably test

Why writing in Comic Sans? Well, Comic Sans is a great way to welcome people back, is it not?

For real though, have a good stay. :)

Time for me to finally unleash my infobesity :D.

Times (Get it? Time for me to unleash all my info, and im starting with times? ...Whatever):

I remember PMing RealSonicKings thanking him for finally getting us 0:18 on Emerald Hill 1 and he responded with this:

"oh your welcome I'm just sorry I don't have a video of the 18 but your more than welcome to check out my 35 Run on Emerald Hill 2 on youtube"

Weird how he doesn't have video proof, right?

Also, on his 0:40 Chemical Plant 2 on youtube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSPG1K90Sp8 ), in the description he says "1 second away from wr but i already have it just dont have it recorded"

I noticed this yesterday, but apparently hes also somehow beaten stankski in total time by a WHOLE MINUTE. Remember, stankski was mainly champion of Sonic 2 times for a whole decade before this guy showed up and beat all but 2 of his records in ONE DAY with 3p in the overall section. Okay, not really in one day, but he submitted 34/41 (not including the overall leaderboard) of his S2 time stats in one day, 32 of which were records.

In addition, I noticed this guy beat the legendary TeeNTee314! If you don't know who TeeNTee is, he owns a 0p championship in S1 times; But more importantly: Look at this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzO4NtvTGZiEGRqRjRb6N3FBtt9bLNtGR . Now look at this http://www.soniccenter.org/members/realsonickings/sonic_2/times%7Cview:complete . (Now back to me, now back to this...) Go to Casino Night 2 and you'll see RealSonicKings did better than TeeNTee. If I remember correctly, TeeNTee has never been beaten in any of his S1 and S2 times he has made before.

But most of all, this guy got all these times in under six months of competing in S2, when it took stankski 20 times as long only to get a minute slower in total time than this guy.

Rings: I'm not too suspicious about rings, since ring records seem pretty simple (I'm horrible at them though :(, someone help me ;~;). However, its notable how these were all done on 3-17-16...

Scores: They're pretty high on the leaderboard, most of them seem doable somehow though except for Emerald Hill 2. It's probably meant to say 93,100 instead of 293,100 though. These were all also done on 3-17-16.

Special: Seem ridiculously good, but I guess they're possible somehow.

...Also (almost) all submitted on 3-17-16.

Overall: Personally, I think this guy is probably just someone who is really good, but the lack of video proof makes me wonder. And the fact he submitted them all on one day is strange...

But those time stats are very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very suspicious.

I do my research, don't I? :)

First off, Eco, nice job on that time, you did it TWICE as fast as the S rank time!

As for me, in my 6 months having been here, I think my best was Sonic CD Special Stage 2 - 10.26. JWick, the former world record holder of this time, had been the CHAMPION of Sonic CD Special Stages for 2 years, and he was unbeaten too, he had 0p! Fast forward two years, and I'm just casually speedrunning Sonic CD, having a lot of fun. I decide to play Special Stage 2, and suddenly out of NOWHERE, I get 10.36! I still don't know how I got it. Later that day, I get 10.33. After this, it gets insane to improve that! I remember I got three 10.33s in a month, but I still hadn't gotten the record! I had completely shut down all other competitions, I was determined to get this record. I played for a month, trying my absolute hardest to beat him! Then one day, I got the gold - a 10.26! I had beaten Jwick's 10.28, by one frame! This was also my first world record ever, which makes it really special (pun intended) to me. I later went on to be the new champion of Sonic CD special stages, but that 10.26 still remains as very important to me. :)

Really enjoying so far! The mouse freeze physic can be annoying when trying to do other stuff (e.g. Press the windows icon when playing a level, it gets stuck), But it's a lot better than I expected!

^Definetely felt that way when I started Sonic CD 2011. It took me around half a hour to an hour (I think) to get all my times for Sonic into that thing, and I was lucky I didn't have to play the stages, since time attack mode shows your best times.

Perfect! I have Sonic 3 & Knuckles too, I can finally compete with someone active (Because I bet new people who bother to make a welcome thread will likely be active)!

Little off-topic, but...
I was horrified by creepypastas. I never read even one. Now that I've read a few (Just a few, definitely under 10), they aren't as bad as I thought. I'm still horrified by those jeff the killer jump scares though.

THIS. I was absolutely horrified the first time I heard that part about 3 minutes in. Atleast around 2:30 you get a short break.
Maybe something like Ikana Valley from majoras mask would work too though
