Beef / TSC error

TSC Fatal Error

Each time I try to submit something, I can select the charts and then update the stats, however, upon hitting the confirm button, it takes me to the tsc death page.

Query Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AND e.category IN () AND e.creation='SUBMIT' GROUP BY e.class ORDER BY l.level_o' at line 1: SELECT e.*, l.*, d.*, cn.*, MAX(s.stat_date), s.value, t.comment FROM classes AS e LEFT JOIN levels AS l ON l.level = e.level LEFT JOIN divisions AS d ON d.division = e.division LEFT JOIN catnames AS cn ON cn.category = e.category AND cn.site = 1 LEFT JOIN stats_current AS s ON s.class = e.class AND s.player = 2181 AND s.stat_status = 'CURRENT' LEFT JOIN stats_comments AS t ON s.stat = t.stat WHERE e.game = AND e.category IN () AND e.creation='SUBMIT' GROUP BY e.class ORDER BY l.level_order, d.division_order

Please report the above error to The Sonic Center staff. Include the URL where the error occured as well as what you did to get the error.

Beef / Cybershadow

Cybershadow has not been on here in a while and can no longer remember his password. Could 1 of the admins change his password and then let him no by emailing him with the new one?

3
I took it twice. I chose my first instinct the first time, which got me blue. Then then next time I chose my second instinct, which got me red.

4
I'm mainly blue. However, red is a close second. Ironically, red and blue are supposed to be enemies.

Beef / Fixing up my profile/please unban me

Could an administrator here please delete that award I had recieved due to it being obtained fraudulently? Also, I wrote a guide for sonic battle. It was a really crappy guide. Would an adminstrator please delete it? (I don't think I have the power to delete it.) Also, I realize that these topics are frowned upon here, but I would like to be unbanned.

Does anyone know a method of getting back to chaotix's level while not touching the back ring? There seems to be a forcefield blocking his escape from the path(he's trying to get out the same way he got in).

7
TSCers, is it legal to touch the back-ring while ring attacking if one already has 999? My brother OmegaDJ got 999 on Hang Castle: Chaotix because he utilized Infinite flight and got to Team dark's section which provides a lot more rings, target switches, and enemies. On the part with the rainbow rings and spike balls down the long slope along the castle walls. Does anyone know how to get back to the level without hitting the back ring (which would normally be Team Dark's goal ring.)

Edit: Omega has 999 right now and is waiting for instructions on this critical part of the ring attack. He's stuch on that long slope with rainbow rings and spikes.

When I made this topic, I forgot about about the prominent members page. I was thinking about it being a page with various mile-stones with a list of the players that have made them underneath it(submissions, records, antirecords, top tens both in games and in levels) and other things on it(other awards like rookie of the year, player of the year, etc.).

I kinda just thought of this idea. I'm not sure how it would work or the requirements to get in, but I just figured I'd suggest we make a hall of fame for members. Maybe some more creative members here would be able to get it it rolling. We'd also need an admin to set it up and probbably another committee to decide who to induct.

Competition Central / A Question

I was reading about a glitch in sonic battle discovered by Thorn. However, I have tried and have been unsuccessful to get the glitch to work. Please explain how to go this glitch for me.

My points on the overall haven't updated in a while. I noticed this was also true for 6 other players. Please fix it so I can see  my actual total number of points.

(Due to the fact that asking to be unbanned typically fails by itself)I've decided to take the advice of a few TSCers about becoming unbanned. I've obtained a cyberscore account and will continue to compete there legitly. Hopefully, by competing legit there, I can prove to you that I won't cheat here and then be reinstated.

Sorry to annoy all of you with another one of these topics. Last year around now I was called out. I lied about it, then let the truth be told, and was banned. A year has passed and I've tried to re-earn the respect of TSCers. I still feel sorry for what I did and now I would appreciate it if an administrater would unban me.

I probably won't be able to satisfy your desire for information, however I have some ideas.
1. Points should be distributed by the rank of the competitiors. The 1st place person gets more than the 2nd. Also, the games points should carry some weight. Its more impressive to be in 1st againt 10 competitors than it is to be first with 2 competitors.
2. The person with the most points wins. Although if 1v1 playoffs were involved, give the player with more points in the matchup the opportunity to pick the game/level although both players need to have the game/level unlocked.
3.  Time attacking, score attacking, and boss attacking should be included. Ring attacks should not be included because they can be maxed.
4. Choosing a wide variety of games/levels to include people. Popular and unpopular games alike. Maybe 1 per week for each game.
5.  I believe the challenges should be given to be done in a certain amount of time. Also, there is only 1 set of levels to choose from for the week and players can ellect which of those levels they want to compete in.
6.  Tournament cental

As of right now, I'm in depending on the rules and games we would be competing in. I don't want to be on a team, although I'd join one if neccesary.

Not to be rude, but when does this league start/RPG's league end? I'm sorta looking forward to competing again.(I've recently started playing sonic games again in an attempt to regain/improve my old skills, although they weren't very elite.)

I'd like to be able to go back and either delete or edit the guide I made for score attacking with emerl in sonic battle. If I can do either of those, but I just don't know that there is a way to. Would anyone care to tell me how to change or delete the guide I made or make my suggestion possible?

Also, could you take away the award that still shows in my profile for a zeropoint championship in sonic battle?

I think I'd like to join a 3D games league. The games I'd be willing to compete in include(in order)...
1. Shadow the Hedgehog
2. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
3. Sonic Heroes
4.(maybe we could experiment on Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games; I have it for the nintendo ds if anyone would be interested in competing.)
We also have sonic adventure dx, but i don't think i'd compete in that. We also have various games on the Sonic Gems Collection and the sonic mega collection although I wouldn't want to compete on any of the games on those games. I don't like the idea of teams(sorry to disappoint you, I din't want to pull my partner down because I'd probably be the weak link on the team because I haven't played sonic games in a while; also, who'd want to be my teammate).

Thats interesting. I was taught that Brutus was one of those people that were trained not to show their emotions.(I can't remember what they are called) Also, I heard it took a lot of stabs to actually kill Caesar.(Didn't know it was 33) A lot of them were blocked with his arms while trying to defend himself.

Warning, this may annoy and/or anger you because of its irrelevance to the main topic.

For the record, Brutus was not an honorable man. He lost all his honor once he betrayed and murdered his friend. The basis of the conspiracy came from Cassius' hate and jealousy. Also, a quote I often refer to although I've lost its source reads “Honor isn’t about making the right choices. It’s about dealing with the consequences.” Brutus built an army in an attempt to defend himself after he failed to manipulate the majority of the Roman people leading to Antony coming after him. Had he and his crime really been honorable, he would not have needed to build up an army/ would not have built up an army. Fortunately for any or all of the administrators, you are not Brutus; or, in the future, we might need to say goodbye to someone that is powerful here.(Just in case... Good bye Rolken)

I know that most members seem to dislike them and that they typically don't work(that's part of the reason why I haven't written one). I see your point that there aren't that many of them though.

While I was in the chat yesterday, I got the idea of having a forum for reinstatement topics. I know that numerous reinstatement topics have been made and a lot of them are in different forums. It could be sort of like the ban list (this would be its opposite although they have a similar general topic).

Beef / Re: That's all right, take your time.
« on: February 09, 2009, 11:02:49 pm »
I didn't really understand that beginning part about the submissions page. Also, I think that would take alot of unnecesary work on the administrators part. Making seperate charts for illegitimate competitors is ridiculous.(I think that is what the first part of your statment was about) They shouldn't have to make new charts for banned users. Although some banned users get don't know the rules, alot of them took the time to read the rules. It is very clear that banned users should not be able to compete or receive a special way to compete(thats just rewarding bad behavior or not setting down a real punshment) In my opinion, you have been banned because you commited two offenses on TSC. You made a second account and submitted fake stats in it. Your going to need to prove that that big mistake was an isolated event and won't happen again in adition to getting the mods here to trust you to be reinstated. Also, you are definately asking to be reinstated.(Which is most likely pointless considering that there have been too many repeat offenders and too many banned users asking to be unbanned which has really frustrated the mods).

I think that there is an interest in playing Mario and Sonic at the
Olympic Games. In Sonic Rivals 2,(TSC) there are only 6 players. In   Sonic 2 Armageddon(TUSC), there are only two players. In numerous games in the megaman center, there aren't any players or only 1 player. In Wario Land 3 and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe(the mario center) there are only 2 players. We've let games with low amounts of competition have charts so why can't this game?

Could we make charts for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. The game is pretty fun and not everything is maxed out. I know that it changes depending on what counsel you use to play it.(I play it on my DS.) We've made different charts for different version of the same game before. We have regular Sonic 1 and 2 charts and then charts for those same 2 games for GG. We have different charts for the Sonic Unleashed games too. We could have charts for each character. It would be similar to what was done for each team of heroes. We could put the charts both here and in the Mario Center. I currently going to make a list of things that aren't maxed out and things that are maxed out.

Competition Central / Re: Record Ranking Project
« on: December 21, 2008, 02:10:44 am »
Wow...You sound way to much like me...(I too often spend way too much time looking up statistics)

Anyways, if it is any help to you, I'd like to give my opinion on what makes some records better than others. I'll list them in order of the ones I think are most important.

1. Competition on the ranking.( The more players in a chart, the more impressive the record. Also, beating a few very talented players(DsS) is more impressive than beating some not as talented players(Me).

2. Margin of victory(Beating someone by 10 seconds is more impressive than beating someone by 5 seconds).

3. Difficultly of strategy(The route one takes on a level could be much more complicated and require more amazing tricks than in another level).

4. Difficulty of level(This one is kind of repetitive, but, some levels are much harder to beat than others).

5. Reign of record(How long the record has lasted. A record that has reigned for many years is more impressive than a record that hasn't been around as long.)

6. Margin of error(Records that can be made only while making no mistakes are more impressive than records that can be made with many mistakes).

7. "Use of restarts/deaths"(Normally restarting hurts you in pretty much everything but in the "find the emerald" levels in SA2(B), for example, restarting is the only reason the records are so low. So, 1:36:89 in CE1 is more impressive than 0:01:39 in WC1.)

8. Ties(Records held by multiple people are not as impressive as records held by only one player).

9. Its better to be lucky than good, or is it?( Runs that require more luck than skill are not as impressive as runs that require pure skill. Although sometimes luck-based things can be really annoying.)

10. Glitches(Using glitches to beat or shorten the level takes away from the skill needed to get the record).

11. Consoles(Some consols have advantages over other consols on the same level. Getting the record on a "disadvantaged" consol is more impressive than getting the record on an "advantaged consol")
