Title: Sonic Robo Blast 2 v2.1.6 Released
Post by: Thorn on March 19, 2014, 04:51:51 pm
The last front-page post was looking pretty dated, so let's put something new here.

Sonic Robo Blast 2 v2.1.6 (https://www.srb2.org/) has been released, with enough changes from v2.0.7 to keep old players occupied and enough difficulty-based adjustments to get new players involved easily. For your inner TSCer, the Time Attack mode has been completely revamped into a generalized Record Attack mode that supports Score, Time, and Ring records.

No, it will not be worth points in the TSC rankings. It's being mentioned because it's a fairly well known fan game and our "News and Updates" posts should actually have news. :P

Either so many people got excited about this and crashed their site, or that link's broken.

That link works. It works quite well, might I add! My mouse makes a most satisfying *click* sound when I follow the link. :)

Yes, the link does work.
I might consider downloading the game.

Considering I said I wasn't going to get this I probably should. I think it's been around a year since I last played this with everyone so it should be fun jumping back into the new update.

Hold on a cotton pickin' minute... actual news pertaining to Sonic the Hedgehog? Well I never! =P
I've never personally been a big fan of SRB2 (chiefly the gameplay design and mechanics thereof), but I admire the game for what it is, love the graphics, and am impressed that the team behind it are still adding as much to the game as they are. Also, improved Time Attack mode is always a plus. Viva la SRB2! *shakes maracas in time to the party-like multiplayer music*

I was hoping I could spur you into remaking TUSC by doing all that Record Attack shit, you know. :<

"Fixed a crash when two people with Armageddon Shields hit each other."

well... seems legit

Please admins, feel indebted to him due to his hard work on SRB2, and let your temptation to revive TUSC get the better of you! ...Oh well, we all know that that's incredibly unlikely to happen, but hopefully your nifty TA implementation will encourage SRB2 speedrunning competition elsewhere, Inuyasha.

Undoubtedly the most badass sounding crash fix I've heard in a long time! Speaking of crashes, bugs and the like, a lot appears to have been fixed up and augmented in this patch; Inuyasha should give himself (or herself... let's not be sexist here!) a big pat on the back (oh, and the other devs should pat their own backs too).

You can simply use the batch file for launching the game in windowed mode instead of clicking the main executable.

I've been asked repeatedly by my friend James to go get the game. I might get it it at some point. (In fact, he's here beside me and is INSISTING that I go get it when I get home)

I guess I could try it and play some single-player.

James gave me all the low-down on the ranking board. I like how it looks, it could do with a little more graphics.
