A big new monitor I can hook my laptop up to.

I'd get a Wii but I'll be too busy until I graduate to justify a whole new console.

I'm not really expecting anything other than a bit of money from my grandparents.

EDIT: my cousin's probably getting Twilight Princess (GC) and my uncle Live Free or Die Hard on Blu-ray from me though.

Stuff on my wish list:

-Sonic Rush Adventure
-Sonic & Mario at the Olympic Games
-Guitar Hero III
-Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
-Super Mario Galaxy
-Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
-Last but not least, a working printer with working ink cartridges (almost all the printers in my house are dead now, one way or another <_< )

There's not even the slightest chance I'll get them all, but that's my wish list.

One of my friends also mentioned he may hook me up with a first generation x-box, as well as bring the whole gang (all my close friends from where I used to live) over to my house for a part of Christmas break. That'll be a blast, assuming it doesn't fall through :)

I plan on asking for:

1) Guitar Hero 3 (The Wii version...aside from Stefan does anyone have the Wii GH?)
2) The Alphabet of Manliness by Maddox (I doubt I wind up with this book due to content...but hey, my parents bought me American Psycho without realizing what it was about)
3) Contra 4
4) A renewed subscription to The Onion

And will probably receive only GH3 and clothing! This is the way the world works.

My wish list.
-Leman Russ Tank Squadren (WH40k related). I play IG and plan on using a tank heavy army for big games. Of course I plan on using two Baneblades.
-Grey Knight Space Marines. (see above). Gives my army some needed close combat skills.
-Contra 4
-Trauma Center: New Blood.

I don't expect to receive anything in particular. I'll make a list of probably money and various replacement items I need, maybe throwing a wii game on there.

In reality, though, Christmas gifts have lost their luster to me. It's not the same as it once was to receive gifts early in the morning.

Baneblades are standard fare now? Yeesh, just as well I quit years ago or my Nids would be getting beat even worse by my Space Marine playing friends/hated enemies. :[

What does IG stand for, btw?

IG stands for Imperial Guard. Baneblades became standard last October (complete with all plastic kit, which is the largest plastic kit ever made) when the Apopcalyse rules (for 3000+ games). The baneblade gets 2 lascannons, 3 twin-linked heavy bolters, a demolisher cannon, a co-axial autocannon (get to reroll scatter dice if you use the weapon it's attached to against the same target), and the baneblade cannon (str 9, Ap2, 72' 10 inch blast aka the frisbee), all for 500 points.

Don't quit the game yet, I think Nids got a 4.0 codex recently (a few years back at longest), an all plastic (awesome looking with all the fixings) Carnifex model got released this year along with the Chaos Codex (last September, a really good codex that makes playing as them a lot easier) and in January, Orks. This is the pefect time to get back into the game.

What kind of army composistion does your SM playing rival use? If its mass assault cannons, I can understand your frustration since many consider it a really cheap tactic due to the broken nature of assault cannons (mostly rending on a ranged weapon that strikes four times). Here's some ideas to help you win.
1. Build a "shooty fex". For anti-skimmer, you want enhanced senses with two devourers. For anti-tank, enhanced senses+ twin linked barbed strangler is your friend. One of the biggest weaknesses of Nids is that (unless the unit is a monster or has rending) they don't have much in the anti-tank department. Grey Knight armies also have this weakness.
2. For a close combat fex, take crushing claws, scything talons, tusks, glands of +1WS, toxic miasma, and a scythe tail. You'll be getting so many attacks that you're practically guaranteed to annilate anything it engages in close combat
3. Get a winged Hive Tyrant (order some Balrog wings sprues from Games Workshop). The extra 6' of movement will help you get into assaults much faster.
4. Also take a choice of warriors. A smart player will focus their attentions on your synapse creatures (if not your fastest creatures first).

lol magnum, I played like...10 years ago. X) Though actually I have somehow kept aware of some of the new advances, like the new Carnifex (which sounds FUCKING AWESOME), and sometimes I get a yearning to get back into it. But I truly, honestly do not have the time or money anymore (god, I'm saying this alot lately, even as I continue to post here fairly regularly). What's more the people I used to play with almost certainly no longer do (though I do know at least one guy now who actually works at GW...).

Cheers for that advice anyway, though, interesting to know what options the bugs have open to them these days.

Well, I asked for a laptop and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I found out that if my parents get a laptop, it is going in the living room and I'll get this computer or I will have to share the laptop with everyone else. So I just told them to forget about it. Also, SSBB apparently isn't comming out until February. So I don't know how my parents know what to get me, like they say they do. Some other things might be Super Mario Galaxy, Pokemon D/P (the one with Dialka or whatever), and maybe a few other things I can't remember.

I don't really have that much I am asking for this Christmas, but I do have a few things.

1. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Fullscreen version on DVD.

2. A Toshiba laptop. (I wanted this last year, but I never got it. I have to decide on a model I want though, since new models have come out since last year.

3. Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock for the Nintendo Wii.

Hopefully I'll get many other things that I'm thinking about asking for right now, because most of my relatives know that I want them.

Toshiba laptop.

Why?! Toshiba laptops are AWFUL! My Satellite 5105 broke down several times, and now the video card's dead and Toshiba won't even sell me a new one. At the very least, go with Dell. Dell at least provides service manuals and will sell you parts even after the warranty expires.

My preferred laptop brand is IBM / Lenovo. I have a ThinkPad T60p. The only problem with ThinkPads is that they're expensive. :(

Gerbil, since you're good at this sort of thing (though any and all advice from anyone is welcome):

What's a good brand of monitor to get? Samsungs seem to be popular and getting all the best reviews, for sort of reasonable prices. Should I go with one of them?

Figuring that I would otherwise be unable to buy it, I bought "The Alphabet of Manliness" today.

However, there's a hard-to-find book I'm interested in, "L'Étranger" by Albert Camus...it's written in French, and the bookstore around here only has some watered-down English translation. For good measure replace "The Alphabet of Manliness" with"L'Étranger" on my list.

You legend! One of my favourite books!

I really don't think there's any reason to shun the English translation if you can't easily get (and read, though I assume you can) the French version, though. I haven't read the French, but, honestly, the translation I've read is just a very good book so it can't be bad. Don't make the assumption that it's "watered-down".

There are three translated versions, by Gilbert (earliest), Ward (most recent, translates title as "The Stranger"), and Laredo (the one I've read, Ward's translation seems pretty similar, though, titled "The Outsider"). Which one's available to you (I'm guessing Ward)?

I prefer reading books in the language they were originally written in. I feel something is lost by translation, no matter how solid the effort and how skilled the translator is, and there's bound to be a high degree of repetition and awkward phrasing by nature due to the lack of words from one language to the next. I'm sure the story is more or less intact, but prose takes a hit because some things just can't be transcribed. Look at, say, Shakespeare; one of his lines in English will be in iambic pentameter, but in Italian will break verse and won't flow so well. Maybe this isn't a valid comparison because meter is rhythmic, and the diction between two languages is rarely comparable, but small things like this just detract from a piece of work. And I won't get the book for a solid 2 weeks anyways-why not pull out for the version I'd like more? Worst case scenario, they don't have the french version and I'll read one of the translations. The bookstore had Ward's translation; I'll have to look into which translations are most accurate in the event I am unable to get the original.

Those examples are flawed. The non-wide images have the correct aspect ratio (4:3), but the wide images have a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Widescreen monitors are either 16:9 (TV) or 16:10 (PC). So even with a widescreen monitor, you'd still get black bars on the top and bottom when watching a widescreen movie.

Not sure. I haven't gone monitor shopping in quite a while. I have a 19" CRT, and it still works great. :) (along with my laptop's 15" 1600x1200 LCD.)

Double monumental fail. The pictures represent the correct aspect ratio of the movies. You're right that it doesn't match the aspect ratio of monitors (you can get away with it with a projector using constant height though), and there are also black bars on a wide screen for these movies. But completely wrong in thinking that this is not actually correct.

No black bars (which represent empty space, and do not hide anything) equals either stretched image, or cropped image on the sides. Which is the whole point of "full screen" DVDs being utter fail.

And contrary to what you said on IRC, most movies are still filmed at 2.35:1, only a handful are filmed at 16:9 (1.85:1 to be exact).

Hey, it doesn't really matter to me if fullscreen is not as good as widescreen. I want the fullscreen version. Most of my collection of DVD's are the fullscreen versions, so I want to continue that trend.

We open gifts a day early in my house; lazy parents who don't want to wake up.

What I asked for
1)GH3 Wii (priority)
2)Contra 4
3)L'Estranger by Albert Camus
4)We by someone whose name I forget

What I actually got
1)Contra 4
2)A fake parrot that swears (says "Polly wants a fucking cracker" and such)
3)$125 USD worth of certificates to Walden Books/Borders
4)Sigmeund Freud action figure

And possibly some other nonsense with stockings. I didn't get GH3; the clerk at the games store told my parents how it sucked, the sound quality was bad, it was unplayable for the Wii because of a lack of dlc, etc. Obviously I'm not going to gripe about this to them because I received some very nice gifts; however, I'll still find this guy's name out and lodge a complaint. Assuming he's still around at the end of the season, which is a dubious prospect since there's such a high turnover rate at these stores. What an asshole.

I thought I was getting a laptop as a surprise gift because of a conversation I overheard between my parents discussing computers, and I heard my name mentioned; turns out this was for an accessory my sister was getting for hers.

Oh well.

- A new computer, too lazy to name the make
- A 19" screen for said computer
- A new desk for said computer and Gamecube
- A bunch of popular DVDs (Pirates 3, Night at the Museum, etc)

Sonic 06 is actually quite good! This early version I have here might have its flaws, but if they're fixed until the release of the game, the Sonic series might finally have a good 3D game.
Wait, that game here is the final version? Not a beta?! Oh shit! :O :O :O

Wow, I got many Christmas presents this year, and I didn't even ask for most of them. Here is my list.

1. The 2007 Hess Truck Set, with some spare batteries.

2. A clad proof presidential set of four gold-plated coins. They were never touched by human hands, and are in a special glass case.

3. The Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock set for the Nintendo Wii.

4. A "How I Play Golf" book written by Tiger Woods.

5. A drawing book set, with everything you need to create art.

6. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, for the Nintendo Wii.

7. The Wii Zapper, which comes along with Link's Crossbow Training.

8. A lot of chocolate, candy, and related goodies that you can find in stockings.

9. Some SpongeBob Squarepants style Christmas ornaments.

10. A Saint Louis Rams fleece throw, which is a big blanket you can wrap yourself in. They are an American Football team.

11. The book Foundling, by D.M. Cornish.

12. The 2-Disc Widescreen edition of the James Bond movie, "Casino Royale".

13. The Fullscreen version of the movie "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."

14. A lot of clothing.

15. Two 24-set packs of Duracell AA batteries.

Well, that is it. I certainly got more than I did last year. This was a pretty good Christmas, in terms of presents. Now, to start enjoying my gifts!

We opened stockings today, and I got more stuff!

1) An exorbitantly large candycane the size of a billy club. I don't even like candycanes though! Tragic.
2) Acne face wash...even though I don't have acne?
3) A reading light that comes with a pen. Why would they package these two things together?
4) A chocolate cookie in a tin. Arbitrary.
5) Hand sanitizer. I think I'll create a strain of highly virulent bacteria immune to conventional antibiotics, starting with those found in hand sanitizer.
6) A heating pack. These things are great.

I am annoyed that I got acne face wash and not Guitar Hero 3. I'll keep everyone updated on the status of this clerk situation; I'm taking a trip to the store tomorrow.

Anyways since almost everyone got games for Christmas, I say we all keep track of our progress through these games here and how we find them. That would be GREAT.

In Contra 4, I can clear the first three levels on hard fairly consistently. The first level I can breeze through without dieing, aside from something freak like getting stuck with a bad weapon, or dropping through a floor by mistake. The second level is only hard in the beginning really, but I keep losing lives there. Those lizards come onscreen too quickly to snipe them individually so the ground is dangerous, and you can't just hang on the ceiling while the zombies explode. The waterfall section afterwards is easy enough though; you just need the spreadshot and it's a matter of simple platforming. Level 3 is a base level, and those are always easy. Whereas level 4 is some insane level I can barely handle on the Easy difficulty. There's a section where you need to scale a catwalk while being attacked by a large swarm of bird robots, with powerups scattered throughout the area. Eventually you climb onto a nuclear weapon, and a robot starts trying to punch you off the rail you're climbing on. To dodge him you need to jump off the rail to the right, and move back quickly. His attacks are really fast though, and I can't beat him on hard since I almost always die and lose my weapon.

I've played easy twice; the first time I got a gameover on level 4, which has some absurd platforming section where you have to jump from rung to rung on the nuke while dodging missiles. I'm in the middle of my second run, and I'm on level 7 with 6 lives and 4 continues; iirc this is the last level Easy mode can reach. Normal I haven't touched, but it seems the next logical step.

As for the game itself, I have few complaints. It's a solid Contra experience...it doesn't arbitrarily differ from what made the games good to start with. I do have some nitpicks though. The default gun is too weak for my liking, and dieing removes your equipped weapon; if you die at the wrong time you're pretty much guaranteed a gameover since it takes too many hits to down things. I'm also not a fan of the weapon change system...there's a reserve slot for an extra weapon, but it starts off equipped with the default gun. To keep a reserve weapon you need to switch guns, leaving you vulnerable to enemy attacks. This wasn't a problem in previous games since the default gun wasn't balls, but now it's hard to defend yourself in the meantime. There's also the problem of not being able to fire while climbing, which has caused me a ton of deaths...but I think this was in other Contras too, so my complaint isn't exclusive to this game. And, and, and! It's very easy to fall through floors by mistake because almost every floor can be passed through, and the command to drop through floors is jump+down. I've had bad moments where I've tried jumping and firing straight down, only to fall through the floor and die.

However it is still a pro game and everyone else needs to get Contra 4 so we can talk about Contra 4 and how great it is.

EDIT: Magnum posted while I was writing. OH SNAP, YOU HAVE CONTRA 4 TOO! How far can you get and on what difficulty? Let's compare high scores.

So far I've gotten to stage 3 on Normal. That Tyranid like boss in stage 2 seems to be weak against the laser weapon. Killed it before it got to use its platform grab move and then just after the second form's first barrage of shots. I love the practical joke the game plays on you with the first boss. It's been years since I've had a serious Contra session so I'm rusty. The normal gun just sucks. The R weapon is more like the default weapon you get in Contra 3 (good times). Never knew that bit of history regarding Super C and avoiding scandal. Oh yeah, forgot to mention Trauma Center: New Blood. Just got to the infamous Pacemaker mission that made. one of the EGM reviewers gave up on after two days of playing.

Today I assembled/primed my Basilisk, Grey Knights and Hydra flak tank.

I tell ya, Christmas here is such a bore.  There's no festivities or anything, and barely anything's on schedule.  So far I've gotten Super Mario Galaxy and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core (I didn't expect more than $50 spent on games from one parent, so that's something) and a $25 visa card I'll probably use to get something from the bargain bin (which was unexpected, really).  And I'm assuming I may get $100 more, but I'm not certain about that.

I miss the festivities.  Though I once again realized I'm not fond of old-fashioned home-cooking.  Also, when's the last time I had a stocking?

No boss has a set "weakness", each weapon does the damage it would normally do. The laser is an absurdly strong gun though, so it knocks bosses out very quickly. I forgot to mention that they toned down the Flamethrower bigtime, and there's no reason to pick it up anymore because it doesn't do the damage it once could. Shame! The laser, spreadshot, machinegun, and homing are powerful as ever though, which is good.

I'm getting better at the game...I cleared Easy last night and have been playing Challenge mode. The last challenge I cleared was 'Rematch 1'. Apparently almost everything is unlocked by playing through challenge mode...I've unlocked the original Contra and Super C.

I gave both a few playthroughs, but I'm rusty. I can't get very far...in Super C I can't beat the second level, in Contra the third, which is funny since I used to be able to clear the games with almost no difficulty. My playtime between the three games included will be spread thin. Seriously, this is a solid amount of raw game.

I found out the name of the game clerk (the store was GameStop by the way) who advised my parents against getting GH3...he was fired for being a smartass. He told a customer they had poor taste in games so the manager canned him...this after several warnings from his supervisor. No compensation from the store though, which is a shame. If any of you know anyone named 'Jeff' then I wholeheartedly encourage you to give them hell. Undoubtedly if we target every Jeff, we'll stumble upon this one eventually.

I'd get an action shot of me making out with it (BECAUSE GOD KNOWS I WANT TO) but unfortunately neither my arm nor my trust in my housemates extends far enough to allow it. This will have to do.

As soon as I can figure out how to actually get the old hard drive in my laptop out of its tray to replace it with the new one (fucking screws are too tight) MY VICTORY WILL BE COMPLETE.

There are rumors on the internets that I'm going to be getting a Nintendo DS (the ice blue bundle) and either Pokemon Pearl or the Sonic RPG from either my 'rents or my boyfriend. Aside from that, I'm counting on lots of cheap token gifts of an uncomfortably feminine, why-can't-you-be-girly nature from the rest of my family. Also, as far as I know no one's gong to get me an expletive deleted cake. I just want a cake. Is that too much to ask?

As for what I'm getting... I am hoping to get World Tour. So what I've done is, I've taken matters partially into my own hands and bought myself a Wii Points card. So I'll be getting myself Mega Man 9 :D and some GHWT downloadable content with the rest. (For the record: Smashing Pumpkins. Nirvana. The Eagles. Fucking yes.)

I am also hoping to get a new wallet and a new watch, both of which I can guarantee I will have lost by March.

I also hope I get a Sentinel or two. (A Sentinel is an Imperial Guard bipedal mech similar to an AT-ST). Man, I'm so close to completing my 8000 point Imperial Guard/Grey Knight army. All I need is a total of 6 Sentinels (over time of course), and some planes.

I feel sorry for you dood. Your parents need to accept that there's nothing wrong with a girl liking guy stuff. If you REALLY want to toy with their heads, I suggest getting into WH40k (Orks as they're the most macho faction ever) or some other really macho/nerdy hobby. For the DS, you can't go wrong with Disgaea (though its not for everyone) and its wacky game play (complete with fighting inside a world contained in a piece of cotton candy), acid tongued/snarky humor complete with ultimate zombies (don't ask), and irresistably cute Prinnies (winged penguins that blow up when you throw them) dood.

My parents are actually fine about it! My mom's actually a biker, and works at a hardware store and everything. It's my extended family (grandparents, cousins) on my mom's side and my dad's whole side. Luckily I have a cluster of little cousins, mostly male, who play Pokemon with me, and I think their input is part of why the purses I keep on getting from their mother are the perfect size for Nintendo handhelds. Unfortunately, my parents are out of state, so I'm left to the mercy of the extended family.

I'll look into Disgaea once I get all the stuff on my "wishlist". Thanks for the rec!

The only bad thing about Disgaea is that you are forced to grind stages over and over again to level up to be able to beat the bosses, or so Ive found so far with it

Nono, pokemon grinding is easy compared to Disgaea grinding lol, plus you can quite easily take much higher level teams in Pokemon, and the levelling itself never really takes that long

At the point I am in Disgaea, I basically need to grind my whole party about 5 levels higher, doing one stage I am lucky if even one member gains a level (because disgaeas xp gaining system is terrible and sucky compared to shining forces) an each battle can take up to 20 minutes or so

Needless to say, I lost interest, and this is a person that grinded a Caterpie to level 100
Title: Re: What are YOU planning on getting for Christmas?
Post by: Auriman1 on December 09, 2008, 10:33:50 pm
Leveling up in Disgaea CAN be difficult, but using methods such as chaining the destruction of the field crystals to reap higher experience bonuses at ends of battles, team-attacking enemies, paying attention to master/pupil relations when creating characters (the master gets experience when a pupil kills an enemy), and taking advantage of leveling up equipment and combining/transferring "item residents" speeds the process up significantly (compared to standard killing tactics).

Um, RPG... again, I really wonder about your skill level...  I beat Disgaea 1 without repeating a stage once for the core ending...you're expected to NG+ before you do anything extra (same goes for all NIS/Mastiff/Atlas games)

So I'm wondering what you're doing that you'd need more than a level or two...  unless you're in post-game, and if that's the case, it's probably because you either have too thin or a party, or you're not doing item-levelling, or you're not specializing...  Disgaea is a lot more than the standard "Kill stuff to get stronger" type of game...  Also, you have to be able to use levelling spots, if you're trying to break 100 (where everything gets easier)...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To return to the topic, I'm gunning for money this x-mas, because I know that if I leave anything to my family, they'll either spend about 10x what it's worth to get it, and I could better use that money to further my goals of Worl... er... >_>... or they'll spend said precious money on stuff that they expect me to like though it's obvious that I don't by speaking with me even once...

Anyone who's talked even remotely about Star Wars, for instance, knows that I despise it above just about everything else, for example.

Sadly, this year I'm using said money on stuff for my new place, as my gf and I are moving out on the first of '09...

Id love to see you beat all the level 17 enemies of infinite rape on....5-4 I think it is, with a level 12 Laharl and Hoggmeiser, level 10 Etna and level 9 everything else

Define "everything else"?

also, why is Laharl above L5?

and how many hours do you have on this game?  I'm guessing... 20?

Usually by 5-4 I'd have an L.20 Fist-Nin (or sword nin for hypno) that could annihilate everything...  Sadly, nin got nerfed HARD in the second game...

Again, I relate to you that most SRPGs DO NOT favor spread-level'd or multi-classed parties...  one strong character is all you need to clear the storyline of this game.

Also, for your happy-fun-time, make sure you have at least 8 characters and one semi-powerhouse (or a few decent-level chars...) and head to... i think it's 4-2...

This level has all but, like 3 invc panels, and a ton of cat ladies/succubus...  throw them all together, and throw it to the far side of the level (DO NOT POP THE INVC), the enemy should be ~L200

in the far corner there's a geo-crystal on a blank panel... throw that crystal onto the red, and throw the cat-lady/succubus onto the blank panel, and surround her with your characters so she can't move...

next, set people up with bows/guns and stand around her, using the virtue of combo-atk-dmg multiplier to hurt her until she dies (make sure that your main delivers the final blow for the XP bonus)

congratulations, you just gained a ton of levels and have a power character (more than one, if you had people combo-atk at the end)

Waltz to the end of the game and have a nice day ^_^

If 5-4 is the level with a bunch of Nekomata and Succubi, then there's a real easy way to kill them. Since the entire stage is invincibility panels, simply let them waste their SP on you while invincible, then once everyone's out of SP, disable invincibility and wail on them, as without special attacks, they lose MUCH of their killing power. You should be around level 16-19 before going into 5-5 though.

The fast EXP levels I'm aware of are as follows: 1-1, 4-1, 7-1, 11-1, and 14-1. BTW, Disgaea 2 and 3 are MUCH nicer in terms of leveling up as they give you tons of tricks to level up faster. On the D3 matter, December's DLC (Japanese version) has just been confirmed. Kurtis (human and prinny form), Vyers (monster) and Plennair. My prediction for January (the last month) are Fubuki, Eclair, Ash, and one more character/class.

I'm prepared for the OoE ass kickings. I play Mega Man Zero a lot and Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? so I'm used to getting my ass kicked by a cartridge, unlike Sonic who seems to not expect getting his ass kicked by a book.

if 5-4 is the nekomata and the succubi, then it's the ultimate levelling place (post above)

Also, in Disgaea 2 there's an easy way to nab a level 9999 within about 15 hours...  thanks to lvlup 10% panels and capture being broken ^_^

in D2, rather than it being an actual battle, it's a level comparison...  if you have someone half the level of the thing you're trying to capture, you get it...  thus, you can use an L20 to catch an L40, an L40 to catch an L80... you see where this is going?

so you get your 9999 and own the game ^_^
Title: Re: What are YOU planning on getting for Christmas?
Post by: Auriman1 on December 10, 2008, 07:28:46 pm
I used an even more crooked method of winning that particular battle: I threw the nekomata and succubi into the single "none" panel on the board one at a time, in a sort of cargo transportation line (three characters were in charge of the throwing, four were in charge of the wailing). In other words, the entire team was still invincible while they wailed on the enemy, killing at least one enemy per turn. You can't get much easier than that.

Edit: I guess that's pretty similar to what Aitamen was saying, only without the uber leveling. I should've read back a few more posts, my bad <_<

*smiles* I'd like to direct everyone to the "gaming achievement" thread, where I've listed a few of my Auto-level wins...  I learned to read, originally, so I could play RPGs ^_^

I suppose levelling, PLing, and high-strat gaming happen to be my forte...

I don't remember where OSG is from, so I'm just going to throw out that there's a fair chance that we're talking about different footballs here.

Comparing with my wish list:

As for what I'm getting... I am hoping to get World Tour.

...

I am also hoping to get a new wallet and a new watch, both of which I can guarantee I will have lost by March.

Nay, yay, yay.

I've changed my plans and may be getting World Tour on 360 instead, which means I have to fork out for it. (Which I have no problem with, mind you.)

Well. I return after weeks of absence from the internet because mainly of moving to a new house instead of that crummy trailer near that construction area. But anyway I ended up getting a Benjamin (that's a 100 dollar bill) because of my parents not knowing what to give me and Of course like I said I finally got that hard drive for $59.99. I plan on spending the rest on Xbox Live.

1. Imperial Guard Valkyrie. To be converted to a Vendetta. 3 Twin-linked lascanons on a fast skimmer (with melta toting dudes inside) is loads of fun (for me).
2. Sly Marbo. Basically a Lictor that instead of cutting you up in assault, tosses a short range Leman Russ attack at you.
3. Muramasa the Demon Blade.
4. Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.

I ended up getting an Xbox360 with Sonic Unleashed and the Genesis collection. Kind of came out of left field - I thought I was just going to play with defunct systems forever and I was okay with that.
With that, I had the obligatory Christmas cash, clothes, and chocolate. Honestly, I'm still reeling from getting the Xbox, what the hell.

I hope everyone had a merry Christmas!

I ended up getting Mega Man Zero Collection, Sonic Colors, Epic Mickey, and some Khorne Berserkers. Seems MMZC is a direct translastion of the Japanese version. How can I tell? The opening cut scene of Zero 1 has blood when the Resistance dies (the blood is taken out in the US version).
