Title: A cry for help
Post by: eggFL on March 15, 2007, 10:39:40 pm
Guys I'm leaving. I just can't take the abuse anymore. Not just from you guys but at home, too. My life is in shambles and I just don't have the time to compete anymore... it's not just that but I feel like I don't have any room to do ANYTHING anymore. And I'm so sick of constantly being isolated just because I'm eccentric or awkward in social situations. And not just here but in real life too. Maybe I'm just an idiot after all. I just don't know what to do anymore. I was trying but I just took the last straw:

I have accidentally deleted Paint from my computer.

Enclosed is another cartoon I -was- working on based on RPG's Radical Train run, but now I can't finish it. As you can see, it's incomplete.

Like my life.

I don't know, maybe if I can just solve this, I can start picking up all the pieces. But right now I'm at my breaking point. I feel like I'm completely helpless sometimes. I just don't know what to do... without MS Paint.

update: I HAVE FOUND MSPAINT MY LIFE IS PEACHY AND DON'T WORRY I AM HERE TO STAY

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR HELPING ME GET THROUGH THIS ESPECIALLY ROLKEN

You're not an idiot, you don't think things through. (For the unaware, he just got banned from IRC again.) Responding with "LOL LOL thanks Rolk" when I was noting grievances requiring redressing was a particularly poor choice; it made obvious that you had no intention of redressing them and thus the only option left available was to ban.

I can understand life putting you down, but a group of anonymous folks who either don't really know anything about you or have a certain hostility towards you isn't the proper environment in which to deal with that. I would recommend counseling or groups or something along those lines. Maybe you consider it humiliating, but it's better than the alternative.

edit: not to say that folks shouldn't respond if they want to.

You probably think you're a real badass by choosing not to recognize my flagrant sarcasm. :(

Oh. No, I considered that but concluded that it was probably your actual sentiment. Make of that what you will.

Now that's a reply that warrnats a half-sincere pat on the shoulder.

But, seriously, and Office Space aside, just work through it.

I can't tell for sure if you're being serious or not. :(

Umm, yes? I was hoping someone might have a remedy for that. >_>

As a matter of fact, I deleted IE at the same time.

Can't you go to the recycle bin and restore them?
Title: Re: A cry for help
Post by: eggFL on March 15, 2007, 11:52:41 pm
huh... I don't recall seeing anything unusual in my recycle bin.

either way, I've emptied my recycle bin since then.

If they were there I think would have noticed them since I skim through my bin before emptying it.

Life is like the Barrel Of Doom, you just sit there until your time runs out.

aww wtf mates that sucks.

Uh, if you search around you should be able to get it back, IIRC theres some silly virus or something that erases programs like Paint and Volume Control, you can get them back however

Due to the way Windows is structured internally, you can't actually delete IE... Or, at least, not entirely. It's kinda integrated into the operating system. =P

Dunno about Paint, though. I guess just do a Google search for another copy of paint.exe. Shortcut != program, remember, so you might just be having a brainfart in that regard.

Eh I was sure you could but obviously not.

Also egg, why not just get a different image editing program?

Post by: eggFL on March 16, 2007, 11:31:29 pm
Cool people know how to delete IE. >_>

Anyway my volume control is lost too. Don't think it was a glitch.

I can deal with not having IE.

Yeah egg its a virus IIRC, I know someone that had the exact same problem, but got the programs back.

Well it depends what your after, photoshop is te obvious first example, Fireworks is pretty good too.

PaintShopPro is a lot like paint, or atleast it was last time I used it (years ago >_>)

Random suggestions~

Photoshop, isn't that costing big money? Also way too advanced for what I want to do with it in the immediate present.

Ah, I think I remember Paint Shop Pro, I actually used that I think for coloring my line art. But that was costing money too, a timed trial-ware. I don't color anymore. (though maybe one day I should)

I need something cheap and free. Otherwise I will have to put effort in the cartoons.

Thanks for all the advice tho. Maybe I can figure this out with all your help.

thanks for the help. I will now be able to finish my cartoon and make many more (possibly starring Rolk)

I don't know how to do cracking. And it sounds sleazy. I don't do sleazy things unless I'm good at it. Otherwise I'm just a sleazy noob.

and the cartoon is finished. ftw

Noooooo! You reminded me of my Sonic Adventure comic adaptation thingy that I started on,
like... a year ago? Maybe more. It's old. I went back to working on it a bit last summer.
I'm up to Sonic's Casinopolis and Big's Icecap... or something. And even older is my brother's comic with my art,
which only needs to be scanned. But anyway, there are time-attack and TSC references and stuff in mine.

I always remembered the comic by Eva Richarte Prieto:
http://www.deco.franken.de/sa_comic/sa_pt_2.html

Have you ever seen those, Marth?

In fact I have wanted for a long time to do something just like that. (but more serious in style) I think it's only a matter of time now before I go through with it.

Btw, he (she?) also started on a Sonic Adventure 2 comic, but I think it was never finished, and while in progress it seemed to fall apart in terms of art. (another artist who was thrown out of whack by the SA2 artwork?)

It would be so hot if I can continue the legacy and manage to finish SA1 and SA2 and continue to move beyond them. And I'd get to throw in a reference to the spanish cartoon (maybe a Yuji Naka gag like he/she did often) so the handful of people out there who have seen both comics can see the connection. Yea, that would be sweet.

Although all that has little to do with my playtime MS Paint doodles and my notorious history of adapting online communities into cartoons. (either through MSptain, or, at one time, animated slideshow gif's)

If this topic is about Sonic fan comics now, then let me post this link:

Download them. They're hilarious.

I think I saw those! For SA1. I don't remember Shadow in any of them.

"THE ULTIMATE PUDDING!!"

That is pretty freakin funny.

edit: Oh I remember seeing the one with PLAGUE CONTROL!! in it but that's about it.

This is a gold mine. X)
